Scribble Therapy For The Creatively Gifted

JoNetta Rene’ is a young writer and business owner from the Midwest. She’s had a desire for writingfrom a very young age, and describes it as her “first love”. At only 8 years old, she would writeplays for her friends, short stories, poems and songs. Always knowing that she wanted to become asuccessful published author, JoNetta studied works by famous writers that she admired so that shecould find and perfect her own writing style. In 2008, JoNetta received her Bachelor of Arts degreein Creative Writing from the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL. Although this was a greataccomplishment, she knew that it was only the first step in achieving her ultimate goal.

After sending in manuscripts and diligently pursuing writing and editing jobs, JoNetta realized thatshe had the knowledge and ability to start her own company that would one day help artists all over
the world. In 2010, she started her company own called Scribble Therapy. Scribble Therapy started as a website for writers to gain exposure, and network with others in their respective writing field.
However, it has since expanded into an organization for all artists. The Scribble Therapy team works with musicians, painters, photographers, sketch artists, designers, dancers, and much more. Scribble Therapy helps promote these artists, so that they can be seen and heard by top executives in their industry, while also establishing a fan base and raising awareness of their particular art form. Outside of the website, Scribble Therapy also has spoken word events, creates therapy albums from the poetry and music on their website, and much more.

When she has time off from Scribble Therapy, Jonetta is in the booth laying down tracks with her rap clique “N.E.W.S.”, under her stage name 'Mz. Cookie'. Rapping and singing are her new-found hobbies, and although they come second to her writing career, she is enjoying every minute this new venture. She has also been featured on mixtapes and singles, and some of the songs can be found on the Scribble Therapy website.

JoNetta is also currently working on her first chap book (a poetry collection), and also a fiction series entitled Blind Date. (You can read chapters from the Blind Date series on Scribble Therapy's website). She enjoys experimenting with her writing and dabbling in different genres, but has a special passion for poetry and songwriting. Her writing can be described best as versatile and unique. She gives her readers a peak into her past and present personal life, and isn't afraid to pour her soul out onto the page.
